Hotel Glockenhof - bell's court - owes its name to the history of the site where it was built in 1911, for until then Willhelm Conrad Füssli had his workshop here, as Switzerland's last bell founder.
In his honour, the four stars hotel's former dining room is now called Restaurant Conrad, after having been completely redesigned to combine art nouveau and modern elements to become “the youngest restaurant in Zurich.“ So much is for sure, you won't get much closer to the heartbeat of the city of Zurich than this, only a stroll from Central Station and the renowned Bahnhofsstraße, beloved for its extraordinary shopping, and with Lake Zurich around the corner.
Zurich Airport is only 12 km away
It's only 12km to Zurich airport, and a transfer service is available against a small charge. Respectively, the Zurich Hotel Glockenhof attracts business travellers and tourists alike. Its 95 rooms are all air-conditioned and featuring every comfort, from the classic minibar to hotel-wide wireless internet access.
Breakfast is included and in keeping with Swiss hospitality you will also be handed your newspaper with it. A second restaurant, “Glogge Egge“ - bell's corner, serves light meals all day, and in summer a garden restaurant offers seasonal specialities in an idyllic retreat. Though the bar's extensive cocktail menu is popular, you also shouldn't miss venturing out into Zurich's nightlife, for like its gastronomy and culture, it is considered amongst the best in Switzerland.
Glockenhof's multilingual staff will be happy to recommend excursions within and beyond city limits: the Rhine falls, Europe's greatest water falls, are only an hour's drive away, and a pedal boat cruise on Lake Zurich means fun for the entire family. Are you a bit of a sweet tooth? Then make sure you indulge in Zurich's chocolates, pralines and pastry, still home made by family owned “Schokolatieres“ and cafés.
